Class 7, Class 11, or Sportsman?
I am really new to the offroad thing, so basicaly what I'm asking is what kind of suspension should I be running for a truck or VW.
Basically I guess what I'm asking is how much does a suspension on a Class 7 or Sportsman truck usually cost? Is everything usually custom fabricated on class 7 trucks? Can I get an out of the box weld/bolt on system for a sportsman truck? and what kind of suspension mods can class 11 VW's have, as well as can I run FOX 2.0/2.5 shocks on them?

here's a really basic guide for some of your questions.
I'd say suspension on a 7 open truck will probably run you anywhere from 5-15 grand, without shocks.
Class 11's can definitely run fox 2.0's but i'm not sure about 2.5's

Cool one more question. For the class 11 bugs it says you can upgrade the shocks and tires, and it must have a roll cage.
What about amenities such as a fuel cell, limited slip differential, gps, removal of parts for weight saving, dry sump, etc...
All stuff you would find on an internally/bolt on stock motor to help it operate and be more reliable.
Oh, and when they say only one shock per wheel is allowed, can they be coilover shocks?

Get a SCORE rulebook, call them and ask q's. Do a search in the vast archives of RDC, there are acres of pages here about all of your desires.

You may also want to look at class 9. To me it seems to be the most bang for your buck. Just my 2 cents.

Class 11 is a stock class. Limited slip differential, dry sump, coilovers...No.

I am a big fan of Jeepspeed for entry level and long time racers looking to build something at home for a reasonable amount of money and be reliable. Like off road racing used to be...build it in your garage from easy to find parts.
