Well, that idiot of a governor signed the CO2 emmissions nightmare we all thought had been killed a few months ago. To quote the absolutely missinformed(or is plain stupid better) one " What I have done is made the air cleaner from pollution. I hope the rest of the United States and the world follow in Californias footsteps..."blah blah blah" He stupid! CO2 is not pollution! it is what we all breath out and plants take in and convert to OXYGEN!

Lets make a real effort to get rid of this guy before he gets a chance to screw us somemore. His appointee to the Air Resources Board said "Davis is the most environmentally friendly politician ever..." what does that tell you about OHV uses in teh future if he gets re-elected and doesn't have to worry about a third term for state gov.?

Well as bad is it may get now that the bill has passed, I think it may be for the best. People need a wake up call to what is going on. I talked about this with people at my work (engineers and such) and they all just said "oh that could never happen".

Automakers Will Pursue Litigation
To Protect California Consumers

Statement by Josephine S. Cooper, President & CEO of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, regarding the Governor of California signing AB 1493 into law:

“The same politicians who brought California rolling blackouts, unmarketable electric vehicles and a $23-billion budget deficit now want to set fuel economy standards for California vehicles.

“Federal law and common sense prohibit each state from developing its own fuel economy standards. Because of the impact on the entire national economy, 20 years ago Congress reserved the issue of fuel economy standards to the federal government in order to balance all sectors of the economy and to avoid a patchwork quilt of state regulations.

“We expect to challenge successfully the implementation of this law in federal court.

“At the same time, we pledge to work constructively with the federal government to raise fuel economy standards for the whole country, and to ensure that all Americans have even more choices of fuel-efficient vehicles.”
