What is the difference between the normal pattern and reverse pattern? And is that gonna change the type of manual valve body to put in the tranny?

Re: Turbo 350 Gate Shifter
Reverse pattern and standard are the direction the gate shifter flows from Park to 3rd. Either one works for the trans. The shifters are interchangable. It is a personal prefference thing. I like having my 1st gear at the bottom of the gates (closest to the floor/rear of truck. i like to shift into second and third by pushing the gate forward or up. I like to down shift by pulling back on the shifter.
If you preffer to pull your shifter into a higher gear instead of push you use that pattern. There are seperate mods needed to the trans for the patterns.
