2007 Avi 150
Has anyone run the AVI 150 before on a quad ?
If so, how much is the entry fee as I cant find it on the BITD website.
Also, any suggestions for my first long distance desert race.

Raced last year on a quad, and will again this year. If I remember right the Expert/Amateur entry was $255, and the ironman entry was $155. The race was 4 laps of 38 miles each. Last year this race was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to racing it again this year.

Thanks Bergstrom. This will be our first long distnace race, 2 other D-37 guys on my team. Looks like a good time. Did you camp or stay in the Hotel. We got 4 days of camping for 75.00 total at the AVI campsite.

I stayed in the Hotel, but my teammate and his family stayed one night in the main pit, and the other in the AVI RV park. (They have a toy hauler.)

Hey Neil! Whatcha doing over here??
All you had to do was ask me. I soloed it last year.
I think you should too! I plan on doing that again
this year. COME ON - get Pat to solo it!
See you soon...
It was a blast last year. Fun fun course. I loved it!

If I had your stamina Patty, I would race the BAJA 1000 solo....LOL...
You going to race it this year? Pat, Joey Elms and I are going to three man it.
Anything we should know getting ready for it?

You will love it. You will really have a great time. What quad are you racing?
This will be your first BITD race, correct? There's not much you need to worry about, esp now since you've done some of our desert stuff (great training). The course was fun, twisty turns, some high speed stuff, some hills, & canyons, oh and lots of dust! I didn't utilize the alternate pit at all - didn't need to. All of us D37 quads pitted together. It was a blast. You are welcome to hang out with us on race day! Hopefully my husband will be there to help pit us again. He never lets me rest though - it's like gas and GO!!!

I think we are going to use Pat's quad. Todd at TCS is making a set of desert shocks for us to use for that weekend, since our shocks are set up for the GP's.
Are you going to camp at the AVI campground or stay in the Hotel?
We were kinda of hoping to hook up with some other D-37 folks to pit with, so that sounds great.
I figured you would be debuting the new KTM quad by then.....LOL...
