So basically-- The '07 Baja 1000:

The start of the race is the same as the 07 Baja 500 to Mike’s and then instead of going left up the gnarly stuff we’re going right and then to El Coyote and on. When you get to Coco’s Corner the race course reverts back to the same as the 06 Baja 1000 all the way to just before La Paz when you turned left to go to La Paz..instead you go straight to Todo Santos and cross the Hwy before the town and into the mountains and onward to Cabo. Here’s the basic below.

Race Start: Ensenada, Ojos Negros, Jamau, Valle Trinidad, Mike's Sky Ranch, El Coyote, San Telmo (West), Meling Ranch (East), Santa Domingo, El Marmol, Catavina (Highway to Chapala), Coco's Corner, Calamajue Wash, LA Bay, El Arco, San Ignacio, El Datil, Scorpion Bay - San Juanico, Loreto, San Javier, Insurgentes, Constitucion, Santa Rita, Punta Conejo, El Tomate, Todos Santos and Cabo San Lucas.

WB BFG RELAY Thanks for sharing
I'm a little fuzzy on the Meling Ranch to El Marmol section. Any more setail on that? Where is Santo Domingo?

Re: Sal Announces Baja 1000 Course on SCORE-Radio

Some of the routes mentioned do not make sense, at least not to me. Maybe there are some "Key" points left off that can connect from one leg to the other. I was not able to hear Sal on the radio so I'm just going by what has been posted here.

If you pull out a AAA map maybe it will go this way:

Ensenada, Ojos, Tres Hermanos, Llano Colorado, Santa Catarina, Jamau, Staircase to Valley, Ejido Los Pocitos, Mike's, El Coyote, Meling Ranch, San Telmo, to the beach, through Camalu, San Quintin, cross over to a trail that we took many years ago (not in the map), which runs parallel to Hwy 1 about 35-50 miles East, down to Cartabon, Arenoso, Guayaquil, El Aguila, Santa Teresa, El Marmol, (a little suspect here--we used to cross the highway at Catavina and go to the beach, but in order to go to Coco's Corner, they might stay on the highway all he way down to Laguna Chapala entrance, then Coco's Corner, back down to El Crucero, To Bahia Los Angeles, San Rafael (fish camp), El Arco, Vizcaino (south), to Hwy 1 again to San Ignacio, to the bach (inland or beach route???, to San Juanico, La Purisima, East to new road and down to Loretto, San Javier, Santo Domingo, past Insurgentes and Ciudad Constitucion, through the silt beds, to Santa Rita, back to the beach at Punta Conejo, and here's where it could get tricky; past Ejido Conquista, Federal Project #1, El Rosario, Los Inocentes, Meliton Albanez, Todos Santos, inland through El Canoncito, then out towards La Candeleria, Los Pozos, and CABO!

Highly speculative, but based on the names provided earlier, this route is a possibility.

You know SAL/ SCORE- Always trying to keep us guessing, all we can do right now is speculate about the "key points" that have been left out, they like to keep us guessing, say like "The Baja 1000 dates are going to be????"

Lucho- Looks like you've spent time bench racing that course, yours sounds like a good possibility
Ramsey good job finding the map, I couldn't figure out how to attach mine in PDF.

Re: Sal Announces Baja 1000 Course on SCORE-Radio

Not necessarily "bench racing" but I have raced (bikes, buggies, trucks) and driven through all those places in the span of almost 35 years. For about 10-11 years all I did was to look for courses in Baja, mostly in the North, but Max, Lonnie, Chenate and I have just about covered every trail in Baja Norte and Sur. Man we had good times just laying out courses. I still say, the best part of racing in Baja is the time you spend with your buds pre-running.

The 1st map you can see the run to Camalu/El Carracito to Santo Domingo. The 2nd map is the course running on the nort/east side of the hwy. The last is the Laguna Chapala area.

Leaving Scorpion Bay, racers will head into the mountains before emerging in Loreto and going through the difficult single-track and the deep silt before Constitution.
Did I not pay attention there? I didnt hear Sal mention Loreto at all.
