    Better drivers?!?! CORR or Desert

There is a thread on which is "better" to watch. IMO, as a racer, they are both fun to watch, someone compared CORR to SX, so then desert should be compared to MX on a national track.

But who is the "better" driver in your opinions?!?! Someone who can drive in dust for hours, not get tired and make mistakes, keep the truck together, annnd still finish after 4-6hrs of driving... OR, the guy who has to leave the pedal to the floor in the 1st corner, only hoping to sumhow not get taken out while sliding sideways at 60-75 in traffic, off jumps and drop offs, hard U turns, and flat out WFO sliding sideways off a jump landing sideways to finish the turn while never lifting...

I ride dirtbikes, and i can ride Starwest, or goto the track by anza, or goto barstow and prerun. i like them all, and if i could, i'd be the Rob Mac and race both!

When a man knows how to live dangerously, he is not afraid to die. When he is not afraid to die, he is, strangely, free to live.

With that mentality though, I guess we could also make 2 TT classes for those guys that just can't keep up with the faster TTs. Oh wait.... This is racing. - Dan Vance

This is LAME! They are two totally different disciplins. All this BS about which is better is stupid. They are both awesome and hopefully both will grow.

i hope did a good job of describing each one, and the intensity of both. this isnt a pissing match, just opinions... and if Rob Mac joined in, some facts lol...

A question like this is like poking a hornets nest with a short stick.

Both Desert racing and Short Course are great. Both have Great drivers.
Sickrick, and the Displaced Desert Racers.

Not sick in that "extreme" kind of way, its more of a weak stomach thing.

Re: Better drivers?!?! CORR or Desert

should i change the question to...

which drivers would be able to transfer over and be a competitive driver in the other series? We have seen examples from desert to CORR, but not many CORR into Desert...

Re: Better drivers?!?! CORR or Desert

Sean I would have to go with Rally as far as the best drivers...j/k but seriously.

CORR is great to watch on TV. They both take alot of talent to be good at. There's alot of people racing CORR and Desert who I'd be hesitant to let drive my vehicle to the corner store, but some are extremely fast and calculating. Ultimately CORR has better drivers in my opinion, because the wheel to wheel aspect is there much more prevailantly. The best CORR drivers also race in the Desert so that should tell you something.

side note: was anyone else but me embarrassed how horrible a driver the desert guy on that show SETUP was???

Re: Better drivers?!?! CORR or Desert

Why wouldnt the desert be compared to desert racing on bikes? Outdoor MX and desert racing I dont think are a good comp.

In talking to racers who race both...its none in the same and thats why you see some guys who are fast in the desert...bring up the tail in CORR.

Just like a fast guy in the desert on a bike, isnt always a fast guy on the track, but a fast guy on the track is usually fast in the desert.
