Clearing the Course @ TC III

Does anyone other than myself think that the track was cleared much better at Laughlin and allowed for much more racing without yellow flags.
I was amazed at how long it took to get some trucks and cars off the course at Terribles Cup. Even more amazed at how long it took some of the roll overs to be flipped back over.
But a pat on the back to SCOREs own volunteers (in the Excursion) for the quickest track clearings.
LVMS crew should take some lessons from these SCOREs volunteers or Mikes Pow-R-Tow from the Laughlin race.

It was my first SCORE race and it was awesome. However, I work for a short couse off-road racing series in WI. and I must say I was very surprised how long it took the track workers to get to the cars and get them re-flipped. I applaud every worker out there, it in not an easy job.

Score may want to think about hiring an crew for around the track who does this type of thing, just for this and let the others do flag work! Just my 41 cents.

Don't get me wrong, SCORE's volunteers wich usually help at every race did a great job as always and definitly held the record by a long shot of quick course cleanup.
And I argree another great job by Sal and everyone at SCORE!

I think the solution is the elimination of yellow flags. Just have three flags: green, checkered, or red. If a crash or debris is blocking the course, stop the race, yank the blockage, and continue. If it's not a major hazard, just race on by. It's off road racing, short course for less than 15 miles, not 500 loops around some paved oval or circuit! Yellow flags: Blah!!!

Yes my truck was hoping this weekend. I lost count on how many roll overs we had this year. The yellow flag deal is a reall catch 22. I will use the monster truck as an example....

The truck was out of the way and clearly not going to win or place effectively in that heat race. However it was running upside down for about 5 minutes after it rolled until we could get a crew member inside to shut it down. During this time it leaked about 20 gallons of fuel. In a typical off road race that is not a hudge fire concern as it would soak in however, this dirt in this corner was like cement and it pooled on the ground. We made a decision individually about each incident before we risked our lives or vehicles to turn vehicles over.

Laughlin is a much easier track to clear as it is not k-rail all the way around. That slowed us down a bunch at LVMS.

We tried the red flag thing at the first cup race-----didnt work and almost got a few people hit as we would flag them and they would continue racing. We need a better way to let people know as they are racing what the warnings are and what we expect of them.

Thanks for the positive comments about the SCORE Rescue folks. We appreciate the feedback as we do it for the love of the sport and nothing more. Still cant believe someone hit me with a water bottle for pulling Alan off the barrier. At least she owned up to it and apologized later.

We will see you all in Primm!

The water bottle was not kool and totaly uncalled for

While there is always room for improvements in everything there was no need to throw the bottle at people who were on the track in the line of big fast moving trucks doing their best.

Maybe we should go to a remote kill switch for red flag conditions like with monster trucks or go karts. Pete, any comments?

Came from the infield stands. Stands above the pits. Employee of one of the drivers. I will not say which team. They did come forward and appologize.
