    Mickey Thompson tires?

Who here has any experience with running Mickey Thompson tires? I figured that since they are practically all called Baja's of some sort they would be more common in this venue, but its pretty rare that I hear someone talking about using M/T tires unless they are talking about the Baja Pros used on smaller buggys and stuff.

How do tires like the Baja Belted, Baja Belted Radial MTZ or the Baja Radial MTX hold up? The Baja Belteds are "race proven" according to their site, so why dont we see these things being used more often? Is there some reason people dont use them often?

    Thanks, Josh

    Re: Mickey Thompson tires?

Which ones does he have? There were three that I was curious about. The Baja Radial MTX is a all terrain, supposed to have a pretty long tread life. the Radial MTZ is a similiar to a Toyo Open Country M/T and I wouldnt know what to compare the Baja Belted, but it is supposed to be a really tough tire.

It would help to know which one your buddy has, because I am sure that all MT tires dont wear the same as the set he has.

    Thanks for the info, though

One of my play trucks has Baja ATZ's. I like them. Seem like decent tires to me.

    Re: Mickey Thompson tires?

    Thanks for the tips guys.

HDRA1, would you say that the MTZs are in the same category as a Toyo Open Country MT? I have heard that those tires are pretty tough. If you have experience with those, would you say these are better or worse? It Sounds like you would recommend the MTZs.

    Thanks, Josh

That was my experience, I had the MTX's and although a nice all around tire, the were very soft and I barely got 20k out of them.
I've had BFG A/T's before and they always worked good for me in the desert, and lasted real good on the pavement...
