Thumbs up Structural Desing Software, for dynamics apply...

    For racing proporsal...

I want a CAD/CAM software, for Structural Desing, but need make a Structural Balance of static in 3D, and later make the plans and isometrics detailes...

and other for Desing and simulation!!!

    what is the top five....?

Solidworks is my personal favorite, Inventor is another good one.

If you cant do the calcs by hand, you shouldnt be using a computer to do it is my biggest advice to people looking for FEA software. The analysis is only as good as the assumptions made.

Re: Structural Desing Software, for dynamics apply...

Static stress analysis is done with fea. I use pro/engineer's version called Mechanica, which is really cool, but together with basic pro/e the package is probably $6,000+. Besides cost, static fea's application to vehicles is limited because vehicles are dynamic stress situations, and dynamic stress analysis is entirely different. Its really the realm of nasa and Boeing. Dynamic impacts must be directly measured to know the g-forces involved, or else you are just guessing. Plus the duration of the force is infinitely variable. It could be a 'g-out' where you hit a smooth dip at speed, or it could be a compression hit, like a flat jump landing, or it could be a momentary spike, like a wheel hitting a square hole. Without measuring, you are only guessing.

Dynamic analysis can be done though - there are data aquisition systems for road racers that measure g forces and suspension velocity, plus the Herbst trucks are fitted with a million sensors. Otherwise just get Solidworks normal solid modelling program, and base your design on existing proven designs.

    thanks for yours help!!!

May be im only need, Pro-E CAD and CAM module, and yes the cost is $ 6000.00 + plus BIG`s in Universal Parametrics...

    Thank again...
