Re: snore south point race
Riding in a 9 car is no different than riding in any other class, all you need is a kidney belt, neck brace, a d-cel if you have one, if you are riding in a single seat car maybe some elbow pads, a bunch af asprin, and oh yeah if you are not good about looking in your mirrors you better have a stout rear bumper. Just kidding a good 9 car can amaze you with what they can do, you can expect to have a lot of fun, be safe and keep your head on your shoulders.

I see on the forum that people talk about ball joint and trans problems. Can the class 9take woops or is better to roll through them?how hard can they really be driven with out issues.I have taken the car out twice and it seems like car like to go about 35mph does this sound right or should I drive faster? I don't want to hurt the car. what is a d-cel? How do these cars like being in the air?

The problems with balljoints are almost all in the prep, who sets up your frontend? the tranny problems are because of all of the stock parts that we have to run, the best way to not break a tranny is?????? nobody knows, its obvious that you dont want to land off of a 9 foot high jump with your foot pinned. If you look at some race results, 9 cars can average right around 40-43mph and thats at a beat course like Barstow. I have never raced the South Point but earlier this year I raced the Buffalo Bills 400 and the track was surprisingly fast. As for 9 cars being in the air, every car is so different, right now my car handles great on really fast stuff and big air jumps, however it seems that I took out to much compression out of the shock because my rear bump stops got a work out. the D-cel is the Hutchins device it will stop your head from bouncing off your neck. the only way to see how your car is going to handle is to just drive it, no race car is exactly the same especially a 9 car for that matter. Take your first race slow so that way you can have a second race. best of Luck

Re: snore south point race
what do you mean by front end set up for ball joints? the upper ball joint has adjustment but thats all I saw. Besides greasing everything and replacing ball joints and tierods, what else is there? I'm used to trucks this VW stuff is alot different.

You need to cycle the front end, to make sure you do not over travel the ball joint and break it, thats what I meant when I said prep is very important.
