Anyone want to help chase? for BK1
Hi All,
We are needing another one or two chasers to help ride/drive our 2 chase vehicles to ensure nobody gets too tired at the wheel and so our drivers can be sure to get some rest. We're racing in the Sportsman class since this will only be our second race ever. The vehicle is generally a class 10 vehicle but can;t qualify as a class 10 due to our engine builder porting and polishing the manifold (wasn't supposed to happen). We're from Alaska and have had many people bail out at the last second, due to finances to travel or not able to get time off of work. Our two chase vehicles are a 1996 F-250 Diesel extended cab pulling a trailer for the car. The other is a 4-door 2005 Dakota. Perfect setup would be someone who has a bike or a quad that we could place in the bed of one of these vehicles so we can go out and bring suplies to the car if needed. Like I said, that would be perfect but not required. Both of our chase vehicles are pretty much stock, both are 4X4's.
Yes, as you can imagine, with this being only our second race (Ran the terribles 250 this year but only made it about 20 miles before engine blew) it will be somewhat chaotic and probably unorganized. We'll have SAT phones and plenty of great quality communication equipment. Please notify me if you are interested, we need the help. Also, on elast note. We're very serious and determined to finish this race, so absolutely no Booze until Cabo.

Why is porting and polishing the manifold a problem size of engine is the only restriction? Just asking
"If it's gonna happen...It's gonna happen out there". Captain Ron

Just going by what the owner said. If that still makes it legal as 10 car in both SCORE and BITD than he'll be one happy guy! See, perfect example....we're very new to this. And as you can probably imagine....there's not a while lot of experienced desert racers up here.

I'm not sure if the car is stock injection or not. My brother is the owner if the car and was the one working with the engine builder. It's pretty obvious the manifold has been ported and polished, it has a real nice weld through the manifold. At any rate, we have already registered for the sportsman class so it looks like we get to go down one super rough course. I suppose it;ll be easier to know where to go with the course being so chewed up.
I'm not to keen on the rule book, I just help prep the car and co-drive. My brother is the main driver and keeps up with all that hoopla.
