Looks like a nice start. Any particular reason you decided to build a trick truck instead of 7200? Not bashing, it just seems odd to build an unlimited vehicle off a factory frame.
Best of luck though, I think it'd be awesome to see a truck like this hold it's own in the 1400 class.
Oh, also, planning on running BITD only?

Re: 1400 race 88' toyota
This is the owners first race truck, and the original intentions were to run the TC caddy kit he bought it with and a set of deavers and just go have fun. After going over the installation of the TC front end, I had noticed the front of the frame was cutup and re-welded to hell and back, it was in no way reparable to race off road. The bummer was we noticed this after the entire cab and rear cage were done and welded, so we decided to lop off the front of the frame, center mount/4 link it and drop a snazzy little V8 in her.
We will race 1400 in snore, mdr and more and run 1800 safari in BITD. Untill the bugs are worked out and the owner learns how to drive a v8 truck we are going to stay in these classes. there are some races the owner and I have been wanting to race for the experience. In '09 we are gong to stick to Snore and BITD races for a season.

Ohh, gotcha. I Assumed you meant 1400 in BITD because I figured at this point there was no way you planned on mounting a steel cab back on it.

glad to hear you want to bring it out to the SNORE series. we've raced it for many years now and it's a great series. good luck again.

we cut the cab off in three prcise pieces so it can be welded back togther. we have plans if we roll it to switch it to a 04'-up tacoma cab.

Re: 1400 race 88' toyota
Got the lowers designed, cut out and one of them welded up this weekend.
Hit the machine shop on friday and made some welding slugs for the uniball cup and for the 1.75 ID sleeves. Made a reversable jig so either side arm will fit on it, didnt want to make a jig for each side. Construction is .188 CR 4130 sheet, with .125 CR 4130 decarayshunz on the front of the arm, tig welded,
1.5" uniball with 1.75 ID .250 wall 4130 sleeves. arms are 24 1/8" pivot to pivot long and weigh approx. 40 lbs each.
