The whole car has aluminum body panels.
Is there any particular reason why you want fiberglass for the hood?
FiberwerX is located in El Cajon and we can make you a custom hood.
call the shop and make an appointment with Jason to bring it down if you are interested. We can work out the details for you

The rest of the car is aluminum, I thought a fiber glass hood would be easier to fab up than an alum one. Is one more expensive than the other?

Re: Need a Fiber Glass Hood...
Well, in most cases an aluminum piece is crafted 1st. And from there a plug would be made or improved on for the final piece that you are looking for.
I believe cars like Penhall, HMS, and others originally had a tin body created and then they could easily reproduce as many copies of the body for the next cars in production, w/o all the intensive labor of hand crafting a custom aluminum body for each car.
If you wanted to create a very simple template or plug and then hand that over we could mock up the nose / improve on the design if you wish / and then give you back the original. This process is much more economical (Then FiberwerX creating a one off piece from scratch) plus the customer will get exactly what he is looking for.

Nice looking front engine buggy.
Did you buy that from someone in Ocotillo Wells?
Hope you can find a hood. I would go aluminum...for fire issues, and probably cheaper to fab.
Unless you can find a hood from another buggy that will work.
