Sheet Metal Fab
I used to do metal fabrication a long time ago while I was in the Navy on aircraft. Fast forward 10 years and I am looking at getting into doing bodies on cars starting with my own. I guess this is a 2 fold question but I am wondering what tools you would recommend (bead roller, shear..ect) and a good place to take a class or 2 to get the creative juices flowing again.
I live in huntington beach was was hoping for some kind of inexpensive class at a local community college or something.I might be willing to work a night or 2 a week or a few Saturdays a month under someone also.
Any ideas?

Hit up a sheetmetal shop. They have everything you need right there. A long shot but maybe a guy near by that races dirt track might be able to point you towards a someone that builds bodies. He could probably use the help, and you mgiht be able to trade labor for shop time.

Re: Sheet Metal Fab
I found shears to be nothing short of fantastic and real time savers. But, there are other ways to cut metal, and some metal suppliers will shear to your specs. Bending and forming as with brakes, benders, and rollers, is really the work that is much more difficult to do other ways.
