Traffic ticket payment in Baja Norte

Check out this info from Baja Bound Insurance. You can ask for a written ticket and mail the fine from the US.....Click on the link to check it out.

Don't forget to ask the officer to write the amount of the fine on the ticket!

If you get a ticket, why pay?

If we give them tickets here, do you think they pay?

(good find though, I'm trying to be sarcastic)

This really doesn't get us away from bogus tickets. Maybe they are taking a different aproach "give them a ticket and they will send thier money anyway"

I just follow the policecia to the station and pay the $1.75 with 30 min wasted. Another reason not to drive at night, you won't want to follow at that time!

It would be nice to have something like this that has the breakdown in both English and Spanish so you can show it to the officer and request for the ticket to be sent to you. Also included on the form should be info on what to do if you are shook down or treated poorly so the officer knows that you know the way it should work. This should be endorsed by the Mexican government and tourism board.

Baja Bound has an Espanol web site. They only have the ticket page in English....Every time I get hit by a crooked cop in TJ they speak better English than me. I'm gonna print it out and put it with my insurance in the truck just to have around.

It will only help keep the honest cops honest.
