Exactly right.

Re: FUD 24 hour race
There are currently 2 24hr "bike" events .. One of which is the Dirt Rider 24 hr held in Gorman ... and then there is a 24hr race held at Glen Helen ....
I think a 24hr car/truck race would be awesome! To keep a vehicle going for 24 hrs is the ultimate test on equipment and some of the best R&D on what is working and what is consistently not working! I would be interested in possibly volunteering where needed. For safety reasons, you would need 2 crews or so to run whatever checkpoints, etc... Not a wise idea to have someone work a full 24 hrs...
I like Matt's suggestion with a couple of checkpoints...

Re: FUD 24 hour race
Yeah....at least 2 crews/shifts at each volunteer position. 3 crews at 8 hours each would be better. 12 hours is a long time in the elements unless the weather is perfect. It would be a challenge!!
Keeping the course on the shorter side would be good, 20mi max
Thanks for stepping up Jenn

Thats good stuff!
There is a road race "Bring what you got, but not over $500.00" in Northern California called "The 24 Hours of Lemons" soon. A few guys at the "hobby shop" where I work on my prerunner are getting ready to do it.
This would be good times. I might be in if school doesn't coincide

Matt what did you have in mind?
This would be an interesting idea. The only thing I have heard of is along the lines of Ralley Tracker. But it doesn't fit the bill as I see it. If there is a simpler less expensive alternative I would like to see it.
It would make a big differance in how the race was run.

Pfffft! Piece o' cake... 20 hours at Parker and Vegas to Reno in my pit - all by my little ole' self haha... but i agree, 2 sets of workers at each checkpoint that can rotate sleeping or what have you...
Rally Track/IRC is the way to go... they have a way to put checkpoints out there and take away the need for people, but you still need people like rovers out there in places in the event of a situation...
