Hello everyone, I,ve been looking for a sight that would accelerate my knowledge of building a race truck and alas I think I found one. I have caught the bug to build my race truck and am hoping that I can get some help.
I have a 1981 F150 4x4 S/B and I will be converting to 2wd. It has a 351w mildly built and 92 body. Right now I have the comlpete truck ripped into pieces leaving me a bare cab and frame to work with. Boxing the frame is what I am doing right now and the next stage will be the 2wd convertion and building up the suspension.
Thank everyone in advance for any input. I hope I could have some input with any questions that you might have as well. I am a mechanic by trade and have experience in fab work starting with my 1980 Ford Bronco that has a 460cid and 3/4ton coil sprung d44 straight axle in front and 1ton D60 rear with a shackle flip. Not a race truck but still awesome with a set of 40in tires on it and roughly 425hp.
I live in BC Canada and will start racing locally to get the rookie bugs worked out but, my long term dream will be racing some short desert races in the years to come.
