Just got off the phone with Metro and there will be NO TOWING of race vehicles from staging to Tech and back along any portion of the route. Vehicles MUST drive under their own power to the shut-off point at Carson & 8th, at which time they will be pushed through tech to 4th street, re-started and driven back to the staging area behind the Ice House. There is no trailering any race vehicles to any point along the route to be unloaded - this must occur at staging only and will be strictly enforced by Metro...

What was the final word on overnight parking of tow vehicle w/race vehicles & pre-runners on trailers for those staying at the El Cortez Wednesday & Thursday nights?
Just curoius what my crew should plan on for logistics???
I am still working on that with the City... there is construction of a tower next door to the El Cortez that has really hampered parking at that hotel and the surrounding areas, not to mention access to different streets around there... I was told by the city yesterday that the construction company must have the streets re-opened by friday or face HUGE fines... Always down to the wire I give you all my word that as soon as I have info I will post it... If I am quiet, I don't have the answer yet - I'm not avoiding anyone or blowing anyone off...

Pit update:
The pit stalls have been laid out. Thank you to the handful of people that showed up to help. The stalls all have a 30 foot front. There are 107 stalls that are 30 x 250, 29 stalls ranging from 30 x 100 to 30 x 300 and 89 stalls that are 30 x 120. Some of the depths vary! As you see there is a total of only 225 pit stalls. That is all we could get from BLM. But if we all work together and team up, put as many cars in these few spots as possible, there will be enough room for everyone. What Im trying to say is if you have three cars in your group and you only take two stalls, especially in the deep stalls, this will leave more room for everybody. I know of groups of ten cars that are only taking 4 spots. This will help everyone. Please be gracious when you are selecting your pit, if you dont have a lot of equipment ie large fifth wheels, semis etc. please take one of the smaller stalls. Thank you very much. I will have a pit map up online by Monday.
I believe most, if not all, of the Class 3 guys are willing (and wanting) to pit together. None of us are in Vegas, however. Is there any way next time a SNORE person goes out to the pits someone can mark a few side-by-side pits for CLASS 3? If we have 7 or so people pitting in 3 pits next to each other, it's a "win-win" for all parties.
If not, I will have to wrangle someone who lives there. Andy? Chris Curtis? Anybody have a free afternoon? I'd love to get all the "Class 3 Cup" guys together (at least those interested in pitting together, which seems to be the majority). We'd need room for several trailers and a few motorhomes.
Thanks to anyone who can help. (I just left Vegas yesterday and didn't see this until today!!) argh.
The starting numbers have been drawn last night and will determine your car number. You will find the results on the "Entry List". Make sure you follow the rules when you have your car numbers printed otherwise ARTS will make you change it at tech!!!
"All vehicles must have a number plate visible from each side of the car, one visible from the rear and one on the front. Numbers must be black on white background or white on black background. Glass is considered colorless unless it is painted white or black. Side numbers must be a minimum of 8" high with a 1" stroke. Front numbers must be a minimum of 4" high with a 1/2" stroke. Rear numbers must be a minimum of 6" high with a 1" stroke."
For those entries that have made only their deposit: Payment in full must be done by March 22nd, otherwise you will be charged a $50.00 late fee!!
1) When will we know the exact location and number of pit locations?
2) When will we get a map of the track?
3) Do we get pit passes or how will that work? We are trying to figure out how many trucks we can use and get into the pits.
