    Sheared pin on shifter linkage

94 Toyota 2wd 22re. This weekend i sheared off the pin that links the shifter to the gear selector shaft. After removing the shifter, there is a piece that accepts the shifter, this rides on a shaft to select gears.

Anyone know if this pin is hardened? Tried hammering it out, in hopes of putting a bolt in its place. Any ideas?
