Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
Short Version:
Went down with DP racing and had a great time!
Long Version:
Left home at 2:30 pm Wednesdays, drove into the night and stayed in El Centro. Woke up the next day, tried to caravan with some people. Had one hell of a time trying to get insurance. We missed our caravan. Followed some guy towing his explorer about 1/2 way to S.F. Rolled in around 4:00pm, had a great dinner, hung out and went to bed.
Woke up, went to breakfast, went to express registration, got the bike, went through tech. The riders went for a final shakedown while Seve and I went to talk to the BFG guys. Then my mom and I cruised contingency. Decided to rent a quad, had a blast cruising around the sand hill. Went back to contingency. Ate some flan that a guy was selling (mistake). Went back the the hotel. Got a back head ache and even worse stomach ache. Spent the night sick in bed.
Woke up early for the race. Saw Arron off the line, set up pit 1 at RM 30. He pulled through saying that his clutch wasn't working. We packed up and headed onto the highway. About two minutes later got a call that Arron was on the side of the course at RM 34 with a blown engine. Went and picked him up, DNF.... Turns out that the radiator got punctured and pissed put all the coolant. From there the clutch fluid boiled, then went the engine.
Left S.F. at 2:30 pm and got back into Santa Barbara at 2:00am. All in all, it was a great trip.

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
This was my first time to San Felipe. We were on our way to SF when we got pulled over for speeding about 10 or 15 miles out of Mexicali. Cost us $50.
Then Friday night I ran a stop sign. Just so happened to be a Policia right there in the dark. Pulled me over and told me to follow them to the station to pay the ticket. When I said ok they said never mind and gave me a warning. Said thank you very much, and went on my way before they changed their mind.
I can honestly say that I had no worries when i was down there. We even left town Saturday night at around 9pm and headed home. Worst drivers I seen were the locals.
Want to thank 3D Offroad for doing a great prep job on the HMS Class 1. And also would like to thank Speed Technologies for fueling us. You guys are great!

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
My buddy called me at 9pm Thursday night and asked if I wanted to go. I said sure, Left sacramento at 10pm Picked up our buddy in san diego at the air port, made it to tech at 11 am, sold antenna girls all day. Good times at Rockadile that night.
Race day went to rm 85 for small but useful locos mocos pit, stayed till 4 or so, back to petes for a shower and drinks, downtown to Als bar, got trashed on his tequilla, parted till 3 up at 6am, made it home to sac about 10 last night..
Crazy weekend but a blast No problems at all. Now on to the MINT!!!!
Dudes need to slow down on the highway. We were doing 75 and getting passed in blind corners.

The only trouble we had was the one hour shake down at the border - by US Customs in Secondary on the way home. What idiots.
