Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
I want to hear the race report from #148 (Driver of record Barry Karakas) or any onboard footage from the start. They were directly behind #117 when that driver was arrested. That's GOT to be quite a story.

I agree. We spent 2.5 hours waiting to cross at the new border and then had to go to the secondary inspection. They really need to hire and organizational management consultant. I counted 17 officers standing around doing nothing while 6 guys inspected all of the vehicles. Also, first in-first out is a concept that they haven't heard of. Our vehicle was finally inspected, but we couldn't go because they still had to look at 3 trailers in front of us. I didn't think that there was an organization that could be more inefficient than the DMV, but I think I found one.

I think those guys/girls have a pretty overwhelming job, and it compounds on race weekends (i.e. all the race trailers). Bummer it took an hour to get through 2ndary. What did they shake you down for?

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
The only time I was treated poorly and felt like a criminal was when I crossed back into the US. those guys were the worst. they treated us like they were positive that they were gonna find drugs and weapons of mass destruction hidden in the Alumicraft.
Vano got pulled out of line and sent to some dirt field where he spent an additional hour waiting for his whole rig to be x-ray-ed.......It was really hard to tell that I was a citizen with a passport who was actually paying their wages with my taxes...
US Customs customer service number for Calexico crossing....1-760-768-2330
If you felt like you were not treated with dignity please feel free to call and encourage the customs dept. to do better next time.
If everything went great, then call and let them know that too!

I agree Nimrod.
Worst part of the trip.
We got some newbe who was clueless.
2.5 hrs at the old border (new border looked bad so we tried the old- no difference.)
We got the dog sniff tour which always makes me nervous with the possibility of some a@#hole smuggler planting something on us.

And when you file that complaint about YOUR government going out of it way to insure that "YOUR" borders are safe, make sure you include you licence plate number!!!
Ive said it before, I probably cross the border more than most people here, and when I leave, I am sure to thank the customs agent, polite or not!!

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
getting back on track somewhat....
1 - Vehicle broken into in SF during Contigency. Couple grand in items removed.
2 - Well deserved trip to the poepoe station. $82, and a receipt.
(they never told me why however - I pretty much already knew, BUT added to my fine once I got there. Second time -in 2 years- they've added to my fine once AT the poe poe station - hmmm, interesting)
3 - Awesome stay in El Dorado (3Bed/3Bath/2 kitchen home)
4 - Great food, cold beers, and met some killer people.
(Old Geizers... 600X, first in class ---> You guys rock! Now get your hand off my woman's arse! haha)
Good times for sure.
Much better than any Ensenada hoop-la has ever had. Long live SF250!!
