Chasing for 1801- Arctic Cat and 1802 Race Rhino.
Got back to camp at 2:30 am limping the 1802 Rhino in.
Special thanks to BFG relay 12 guys for towing the Arctic Cat from RM 192 to Zoo road. You saved our #1 chase guys several hrs of torture in the middle of the night.
Again- Thanks BFG relay guys

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
Friday afternoon, back at the parked truck after contingency and just about to head down the coast to the pad. The two buddies I was with got picked up by the Polica for Bano y Publico.
They were cuffed and sent to have a seat in the back of the Polica pickup truck.
I head to the Police station and after a few minutes the truck shows up with by buddies.
They are checked into the office in the back of the station for booking. All of a sudden here comes a VW bus that I have never seen before. The Baja Bus was equipped with no doors or windows and parks across the street from the station. Team FiberwerX piles out of the Bus & Im like what the heck is going on!
The next thing I know, I see my buddy Hawaii (Jon Tripp) being hauled into the station handcuffed to a local Mexican. Apparently for the same infraction as my other friends.
Half my team was arrested for urinating in public, lol. $60 fine a piece thanks to JuanCo interpreting and talking down the fine a bit. Punishment fit the crime. Good times!
I still dont no where the Bus came from but oh well!

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
i chased in my prerunner, we had to take a new computer to the race truck because of ignition issues, he was at mile 125 and was tryin to make it up the wash but was getting stuck because the motor was running on 3or 4 cylinders, they had no power so. we were at mile 63 so we had to run the race coures all the from 63 to get to him. we were haullin, passin 5s and 1600s in my prerunner, we ended up having to run all the way to mile 213 to get off the course. they ended up running out of gas because of the bad gas millage they got from the ingition issues. ended up 3rd by 19 seconds.

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
Sf was great as always. We had a spindle break early and a replacement was to far away to get it going. Sucks, but that's racing. Our SCORELITE car did great. Gary Johnson and Todd Starks drove the car to a 3rd place finish. Great time was had by all.
The only cop I ran into all weekend approached me on the hill top by the marina while I was relaying on the radio between the north and south sides of the course. He checked to make sure we were OK and that we didn't need help. Gave us a thumbs up and left. Pretty awesome!

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
I to had a great time down in San Felipe, camping out on the beach was awesome! There were a handful of squatters at Pete's camp but no one messed with my unattended tent which was a blessing and a test to how safe/secure it was.
Racing was the best! First time ever competing in a desert race thanks to Ted Moncure of Long Beach Racers. It was really special for me to see the race from a racers perspective even if I was in the left seat.
Prior to the race Rod Hall told me I'll always remember my first race and he wasn't kidding. That first jump off the start, dicing it up with Hedi Steele/Cody and the other 7sx, my catheter coming off, even being stranded in the baja with electrical issues will be amazing memories that will last a lifetime.
Thanks first to Long Beach Racers, everyone at SCORE, all the volunteers, medical, and all the competitors that made the effort to race in San Felipe possible. Sorry to hear of the individuals that were injured during the race. I'll always be your Chaplain first, but it was sure fun racing with you too!

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
We had a great time saw every car pass by RM3.5 up to the rhinos... the went back, bought beef for the Carne Asada, had breakfast, and still had time to get down south to RM222 to catch a bunch of bikes and the cars.
Chaplain: I really have to thank you for that GPS map, it was a life saver for getting to our destination while avoiding the hoards of traffic using the typical chase roads.
Cheers

Re: San Felipe, what's your story?
When is Klaus gonna get on here and post something about All German Auto sports winning Class 1 and finishing 5th overall?
He was pretty excited out at RM 167........
Nothing like having a guy walk up to you with a German accent wearing a Pemex Jacket in the middle of the desert..........I have been trying to score a pemex hat for the past year.......I have no idea how he got the guy to part with the jacket....
