Local (to the Northeast) OffRoad Truck Racing This Saturday...
in CT if anyone is interested...its the initial event in the NORRA series...to be held at Mototown USA in Windsor, CT...full on racing with jumps, turns and such...and INDOORS too...Mototown USA is the largest indoor motocross facility in the world and having truck races is something new for this year...I am going and will be attempting to cover the event for Offroad.com (we'll see what news/pics/video we can get)...I'm not sure what time the event starts (the NORRA site and Mototown USA site leave a bit of info to be desired) but will post the events times here later today in case anyone has Saturday free and wanted to see some door to door offroad racing on a local level.

I wish we could make it up there, Pat (the guy who runs the series) is a great guy and used to race in Arenacross professionally. Our team would have liked to make it up there, but the gas for the semi would be $1,000. Add in all the other costs and we would be wayyy in the hole.
We raced his inaugural event in '06 and it was very fun. It is different then on the West coast though, out west you have lots of people throwing lots of money into racing with no return. (CORR paybacks for example, what a joke.) Here most people race with the mentality that they need to be at least payed for the actual race expenses.

I'll be there so expect some video and pics from it...and I'm recruiting as many people as I can to go...gotta get some sort of racing scene going here in the Northeast to tide me over between trips to the desert...
For anyone interested, the races start at 12:30 with ongoing practices before that...admission is $15...

From the NORRA website:
Registration will be from 10-12, Driver's meeting at 12:00 sharp! Heat races will start about 1:30-2:00.
Myself and a few guys from my west coast desert program will be down there as I'm thinking of getting involved since I'm based in the Northeast.
