Can anybody tell me if these things are necessary or not? I would be using them on forward trailing arm mounts. They seem like a good idea, but sort of pricy. Pros/cons?

How is your trailing arm set up? How are the shocks mounted vs. the centerline of the arm?
Trailing arms are 54 1/2" long from center of heim to uniball. the mounts are 3 feet from forward mount and about 1 inch below centerline from uniball to heim.

Even with the shocks mounted below centerline, you can still bend shafts by hitting something with the trailing arm and having it twist. These are very good at stopping that, I think the price of 2 new shafts would more than make up for the cost increase over regular uniball mounts.
I saw $350 a pair on the Blitz website. Not bad...as a pair of standard uniball kits runs $200...right
Seems like a real good idea! Really no other easy way to limit the twist when running a uniball on the front. I guess if you used a real deep cup...and found some perfect sized urethane bushings to slide in either side of the uniball...that could work...if you are not using a hi-mis spacer. Don't really need that much twist...right?

i agree, 350 is not that much when comparing to the cost of shock shafts and rod ends. hopfully blitzkrieg will sell just the spacers and not the uniballs. we already have FK uniballs and dont really want to spend money on more right now. if i have to i will (always need spares of everything), but allocation of funds on this project is pretty crucial right now. just trying to make the most economical decision. keep the advice coming!!
If you want a cheaper solution, Run strait spacers in the uniballs then get some delrin donuts turned to put between the arm and the mounting plates. These will still alow some twisting, but will save the shocks.
Actually, you should never run regular high-misalignment spacers on the front of trailing arms.
I used a Kartek uniball cup with aluminum side pieces that only allow movement in one direction. The truck has not been tested yet so who knows if it'll work.
we have them in stock. give us a call. 714.630.0630
