unnecessary nerfing
we were hit so hard by a greenish protruck, could had been # 1283, that the battery box along with the whole rear bumper and related links were destroyed.
No excuse for it as we will move over to let pass anytime that the course allows. In class 8000 we finished 3rd, 2 hours behind Curt Le Duc, the class winner, it took us 3 stops to patch the truck together, easily 2 hours, it was a miracle that we made it to the finish.
The damage as of what we could see today it could be at the 2000$ level and maybe we could had placed better..
If anyone found a yellow top Optima and the battery case, hope it still works and be it our gift to you!!!
We are now reinforcing our front bumper, never know when we'll need it.

This is getting to be way to common place, and totally unnecessary.

Re: unnecessary nerfing
is it just done by young inexperienced drivers all caught in a winning frenzy or some just dont care about safety and damage costs?
What if the damaged truck or car retalietes?
There would be no end to it. We going to forget this episode but maybe keep an eye out for that protruck, just to make sure he does not get to close.
And with a stronger front bumper...maybe we will let him pass immediatly...

In my humble opinion and years of observation, it is quite the opposite, it's the experienced guys who think that noone else should be out there slowing them down.
Just my $0.02.

Re: unnecessary nerfing
all the drivers I know respect others property....shame that older drivers ( not specially age wise)would be so careless.
At the MDR and More races in the last 2 years we have not had any such problems.
At the SNORE race last month it was a bit more bumpier but in a OK manner, no very hard hits and we always were able to pass just by sounding the siren. Seems that occasionally this problem surfaces again.

Jim, I wonder if it was not deliberate. At the Mint I was just getting ready to tap another 10 car when he braked hard to go off course and get out of my way. I hit him really hard and I am sure tweaked his exhaust collector at the corner of his engine cage. I was glad to see the guy finish later on.

we were running at a good clip, some dust in front, it was earlier in the afternoon, after lap one, never heard horn nor lite bump, only big hit.
Lets give the benefit of the doubt!!!We maybe were in a dust cloud and appared in front so suddendly that they could not react in time.
If they read this, maybe they could answer. Just to get the facts!!!
If any of the protruck guys read this they may know who the 1283 belongs to.

If the Protruck was the one of Jernigan Motorsports I'm sure they didn't do this on purpose. Great set of guys. Greg or Jason will reply and set this straight. If it was even them.

Re: unnecessary nerfing
It happens all the time, this and that, some people just don't care about You!, not to say this was the case this time, but every 3 months or so we touch upon this subject. Their "Race" is much more important than your car or safety. They wipe their hands by saying "that's Racing" I know someone will say to stay out of the desert or racing and that they are there to win. But at what cost??? broken cars??? Fatalities?? What happend to the ALOHA Spirit??
