How does Jim Baldwin Sleep at night?-Spectators LOSE @ CORR
When was the last time you have gone to a paid event of any kind that was day long in length, indoors or out (desert races don't count, you know what to expect) that DIDN"T provide any means of drinking water whether coolers, fountains or whatever. How do you sleep at night Jim Baldwin? 95+ degrees, very little to none as far as shade to escape the blazing sun, then, $5 a f-ing bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated during the hot day while choking on the excessive dust because the track crew only hits parts of the track with water. On top of that, lets build a track that faces the west, so as the blazing sun is at its' hottest, so that all the people that all paid $30 & $46 to get in have to look into the sun while choking on all the dirt blowing the the prevailing wind which always blows from west to east, right into the crowd. Excellent planning!!
Does CORR even have a medical facility on site for fans that become overheated or dehydrated because no water is provided without buying it? I was at Saturdays race and spent $20 just in water, 4 bottles, which for the aount of time I was there, was not enough. You won't allow me to bring my own, you won't allow me to go to my car to drink any, you don't provide even a basic commodity of life (no different than providing toilets).
I asked two different CORR employees (red shirts, CORR tags and creds) about water, and got no answer from one and a rude "go ask the sno-cone lady" answer from the other. Why would a food vendor know where or if drinking water is provided?
Jim, do you need to take EVERY last coin from the very people that are paying you good money just to show up at your event? I noticed at Primm, people were allowed to come and go as they please to spend money in the Herbst hotel, why the BS at all of the other races?
Your first reply will probably be, "well, you don't have to come to the races". You are right, and after attending all but the Texas race last season, I won't be attending any more of your races, TV is free. Seems you need butts to fill seats also, seeing how Saturdays race was shy of a sell-out.
How about making a few adjustments to make the fans experience better. How about some of your red shirts at the races taking comments about how to make the experience better and retain some of your fans??? What a concept.
Oh, and thank Katie Bosler for "not" returning my call to discuss these very issues last week. Nice to see how little effort is put into constructive, intelligent suggestions from fans. Perhaps some media coverage of fans dropping like flys in the hot sun suits your need for advertising. Afterall, it's all about the MEDIA now, the the race, not the fans.

I love off road racing. Hot, Cold, Dusty, Whatever. Yes the water was $3.75 and that did suck, but I don't think Jim Baldwin is out to make money on water. I'm pretty sure he is at a big enough loss as it is. I will admit that the dust was crazy in the first moto which was way better in the second. To me the amenities are just a plus, the races are always fun too me regardless.

Well I agree how much I love off-road racing weather it be CORR or Desert that being said......That kind of thinking is exactly why CORR will have such a hard time growing.....How can it grow into something like nascar something big if you cant take your family.....all of us here are fine sitting throug dust and 100 degree days but for your first time fans or guys taking there famlies or someone who just wants to check it out all the little things matter to them. There are alot of improvments that can or need to be made! Also on that note I by no means could do better then Jim Baldwin so I salute him for what he has done and look forward to what he will do in the future.

I brought four people to come and enjoy CORR for the first time and I as well as them were shocked at the prices from the gate all the way thru the day. And the lack of water or cool zones??---they wanted to leave right after the 1st kart race

So does that mean that no one was allowed to bring in an ice chest or cooler of water/sodas/sandwichs?

Agreed, at least at the open desert races you can sort of stay by your vehicle with a cooler although most of those suck for spectators as well. As far as CORR, well they have let me in with water in my pack before in Primm but I also had a 3 year old with me. Everything is expensive with CORR, which I personally can deal with as long as I can bring in some of my own water to keep my family from dropping dead. If I was not allowed to bring in my own water I too would no longer attend any CORR events (period).
I too enjoy off road motorsports and have brought friends with me to a CORR event who werent really "in to it" so to speak. I had the same results at Primm, they thought it was too dusty and too hot to enjoy themselves. They didnt bring any water and didnt want to pay the high prices either I guess. They left after only an hour...
Its no wonder NASCAR is huge and desert racing and short course are not... neither have opened their arms up to spectating. Until they do neither will see the big endorsements and profits of the pavement racers.

Not that simple...for the success of the sport we would like it to grow...and even people that love the sport didnt enjoy CORR, and it is always good to try to improve and to do that you need to look at some of the negatives

I brought my dad and uncle out yesterday and they both had a awesome time. they brought a lunch box with sandwiches and water in the gate with no complaint.we all had a blast yesterday, i would say it was worth every penny of $30.00 a ticket. the only thing that sucked was the dust controll... or lack of. As far as the weather is concerned, did everyone forgert that we live in southern california. Triple digit temps are not uncommon in the summer.

Of course there was dust. This is off-road racing not a polo match.
