MLK Statue controversy..
http://news.aol.com/story/_a/panel-c...10085209990001
Doesn't this go against EVERYTHING that we have been taught?
examples:
Art is in the eye of the beholder...some of the CRAP that I've seen has sold for MILLIONS of dollars, and my dog could do a better job.
Who cares if the artist was Chinese? Isn't that racial?
"he can't make the sculpure because he's not American" they said. Watch, now some starving college student is gonna make one, and then they'll say, "Well it should have been an AFRICAN American that makes it" Isn't that racism at it's finest???
It might be just me, I happen to think the expression on his face is one of determination, not anger or hostility. Then again, I have no piece of paper saying I wasted eight years at college to determine what good art is...I'm sorry, did I offend you?
I mean an art degree

It looks good to me too.......If it looks confrontational...GOOD, He was a confrontational character ......This is what we talk about people being too politically correct.....MLK was a mess in his personal life, but his ideals were well worth fighting...
If anything, he proved that in politics you don't have to be a moral person to fight for a moral cause....

EXACTLY! MLK was such a go-with-the-flow type guy, he shouldn't look confrontational at all! As a matter of fact, replace his likeness on his face with a little bouncing Wal-Mart smiley face...

The statue looks fine. I don't mind if the guy is Chinese. They probley had other sculptors and picked his because it was the best. I just don't like that it will be 28 feet tall. That is too big. It should be life size. Nothing bigger.

That's the only problem I see, I don't see why he should be bigger then Jefferson or the others there on the mall.
I also don't see a problem with outsourcing the sculpture, although I would have rather seen an American do it, but that probably had something to do with the Chinese guy offering the best bang for the buck and the highest quality.

If they wanted to be politically correct, they would have out sourced it to an African American.............................
Cheap Basturds!
The thing is, the statue would have gone unnoticed if not for the outcry!

You mean to tell me there is a statue of George Jefferson on the mall? When did that happen?
