    racer951,
I'm not saying these all aren't valid points, I was just wondering if someone has done the formal
complaint route and not had a response.

I think when D2G came out, it was a more accepted way of racing, and since then we've been
told we'd be DQ'd in certain areas.

I think what he is saying is that matters like this should be answered with a formal statement from the sanctioning body. I realize Sal is the boss but the racers keep him in business and they deserve having these matters addressed. It is actions like this (or lack of actions) that devalue the organizations credibility. I very much doubt I am alone with the position that SCORE needs a Public Relations Spokesperson whose job is to publicly address these concerns. Sal is obviously too busy or shrugs off these concerns as non issues.

The RDC forum always has been a great place to discuss matters concerning racers, and races, and the politics, and whining, and praise too. Eventually, someone takes the responsibility of what concerns are raised here among the racing community and says they will directly approach SCORE and Sal with these thoughts. Unfortunately these threads seem to lose steam and the follow up rarely happens. The link attached below would be on example of this. There are many others. This is not always the case of course but it does seem kind of the standard method of opperation more often than not. Am I alone here?

laurie, the thread in the bike section lays it all out... "use this short cut and you will be dq'd!!!" after the fact AND under CRB nothing was done, even when Sal and Paul both acknowledged the bike took the short line.

This would be a question for Mikey Childress concerning this incident. I know he made his concerns to Sal but if it was in writing I don't know m but I am sur others in the know will chime in eventually. As far as other events/incidents, I would like to know this myself. This stuff always seems so hushed.

I am Mikey's Dad. The reason Steve & Mikey didn't file a formal complaint was that after the two of them and Sal went over the 1x data and it was determined that 1x did in fact cut the course, Sal failed to do anything about it and he said to them "This is the last I want to hear about this".

Does this not bother anyone? It bothers me. I don't like being told to shut my mouth and rarely do it just because I am told to.

Sometimes I create my own problems because of this and wished I had just shut up but when it is a matter of integrity I feel it is worth the battle. It seem that speaking out against SCORE is very TABOO and people just don't go there. This stuff just gets swept under the rug. I guess I am beating a dead horse...

That's exactly why I've said a couple times that one day SCORE will be sued for a situation similar to this. I'm positive it would/will happen on the competition side before the safety/liability side of things. It may not be "good for the sport" or popular with SCORE backers, but getting popped with a lawsuit would change their attitude about this. If it didn't, more would follow suit. All it's going to take is someone with money to burn and a point to prove. I think the attitude and demeanor of SCORE has a lot to do with how much it bothers people (including me).

I thought this was a racing forum! what does baseball have to do with it. As for IRC Saftey is the main concern for the racers.
