Tips and Tricks to getting good course notes??
after seeing the in-car footage of car 116 at the 500 i was pretty blown away on how great their course notes were and how "on point" the co-dog was.... being a rookie co-dog i want to be the best co-dog i can be (im sure like every rookie wants) ..hopefully with this thread some of the more experienced drivers/co-drivers can teach us young guns a thing or two...
-how do you guys take your course notes? (good old pen and paper??)
-how many times do you have to prerun a specific spot on the course to get accurate course notes?
-do you compare your corse notes with another co-dog? or should you just stick to yours and he should stick to his?
plain and simple .. what helps you guys most? ... anything you might be able to pass on?
thanks in advance

Re: Tips and Tricks to getting good course notes??
Adam, I would prerun the course some sections as many times as it took to find the things I was looking for. Remind you I was racing before GPS gra. We use to take the SCORE map and notes and make a roll chart when we raced a two seater. The my co-dog was my Baja motorcycle riding buddy we think alike which is very helpful. Prerun take notes!

somebody else said this in another thread and its the way I have been doing it for a while now-- gps, marking your waypoints and using a handheld voice recorder to transpose the notes for that waypoint number onto your gps file with the aid of a laptop..sound complicated but it is actually very easy....best way to "customize" race notes for you and your driver.

voice recorder!! awsome idea... humm mabey there's some way we can record what comes out of our headsets/race helmets (for long enough period of time)... that's actually a really good idea thanks Tipracer
