have you called painless? they should be willing to help you out.
if all else fails, take pics of the wiring harness and corresponding parts and someone should be able to tell you what to put where.

If you need a scanner to tune it, let me know, I have one in Poway. I'll be down this weekend, let me know.

I would come down to help you out, but I'm not free unitl next week. It would cost you about 30 in fuel and the beer i drunk while I was there.

Goofballracer,
How much do you have left to do? Just the ignition wiring and starter?

Re: help!chevy 4.3 v-6 with painless wiring harness.
I pulled a TBI motor this weekend, I think I know what you're talking about. You need to find the year of the motor, then get the accessory for that year, or cut off the weatherpack plug. Everything is weatherpack on the TBI stuff. The ignition is dual plug, with wires from the starter, and going to the dist. 2 plugs on back of dist. as well. If you need help, let me know.

Re: help!chevy 4.3 v-6 with painless wiring harness.
on my paintless the Crank signal wire goes to the same pole that the wire from the ignition switch to starter solenoid went to, lets the comp know it's cranking and gives it more fuel, then hook up the hots and ground for the ECM relay and everything. I'd just call them i'm sure there's people that have been more confused then you.
