Step one....CUT.
Step two...Build it back up.
Step Three...Trim it to shape!
Step Four...Cover to protect.

I can't stop thinking about the cleanup after Step Three-Trim to shape.
Nice fenders though! Looking up to finished photos.
Booooyaaaaaa
I got one done in 4 layers. About a gallon of resin for one. Slight miss calculation. What a PITA to do in the wheel well. Once I pull them off I'll run another couple of layers to thicken them up. They are in the path of flyin debris.
#2 done. I used a different resin I had, as I'm left with only 1 gallon left that I bought the other day. I've got about 2 gallons left from about 3. It was just over half of a 5 gallon pail. Now I have 2 fenders left to go. will be doing that tomorrow.

Looks great so far.... I have done stuff like this on a much smaller scale.
I have to give you credit for taking the plunge.
wow thats awesome!
just curious,
how much does the resin run?
thanks

ALCAN SPRING http://www.alcanspring.com/
The 1.5oz chop strand glass mat was $7.50 meter.sq.
The polyester resin was $45/gallon for generic brand, marine grade.
Catalyst was $1/oz
If you plan to do your own glass each fender in 4 layers of mat took little over a gallon of resin. Getting resin in 5 gallon pails may be cheaper than getting 1 gallon cans.
I layed up the drivers front last night and I need to get more resin before I start on teh drivers side rear one. I should have the front glass trimmed and fitted on the truck this weekend. Then the body work will begin.
Thats rad, I have an 87 Ranger that I wanted to put fenders on the front of. It only runs 31's but I have just a leveling coil and I wanted more tire clearance. I would probably just buy a cheap set sometime later.
How much did it cost to do the two front ones total?
Very, can't wait for more pics.
