I sent this to Dawn as a PM, but hopefully this will clear things up on what I believe the court date on the 6th is regarding:

When Mr. Reddish was arrested and placed into custody, the Riverside DA had 72 hours to file a complaint against him charging him with a crime. When they didn't charge him, he was released "OR" which means he was released on his own recognizance without a bail bond being posted. The court date on the 6th I believe is just a date by the clerk's office marking the 1 year date from his OR release. If Mr. Reddish appears in Banning, the clerk will probably tell him that no charges have been filed and he is free to leave or he will be sent into court will the Judge will tell him that. There might also be a note from the DA indicating that the case against Mr. Reddish is a "turn down" meaning they have decided not to prosecute at this time.

The statute of limitations on murder is indefinite, meaning the DA or Attorney General can file the case at anytime. If you believe the DA has a conflict of interest in failing to prosecute Mr. Reddish, then you need to contact the California State Attorney General. There isn't an AG office in Riverside County. The AG office that handles cases in Riverside County is in San Diego.

We've been going through the same run around on an assault case in AZ where our son was the victim. It seems that the system gives every benefit and opportunity to the alleged or convicted and the victims are truly forgotten...

yes I am asking for the attorney general to review the file. The audio recording Ty admits he knows Nye's age, he admits to choking him. His dad and brother both talk about his combative behavior. Nye had zero history of being a fighter. I would not devote my time like I am unless I knew for a fact that Nye would not cause this to happen. I can bet my life on it as a fact. I also interviewed neighbors and found two people who had recent incidences with Ty. I gave the notorized statements to the DA. I handed them to the main homicide investigator, faxed them, registered mailed them, and emailed them. I know they had them and they removed them from the file. It has became a corruption case with the DA, Sheriff staff, Coroner, internal affairs,fire department participating. None of us would ever guess something like this would happen to us. Nye was such a good guy and helped his community a lot. He was president of the water company for 9 years. He did a lot of work for them all hours of the day. He hand carried buckets of water during the fire and saved a neighbors home. It seems like a bad dream. What is even worse is how the neighborhood tried at first to get this investigated but with them seeing how things are going fear, discouragement, has caused them to hide and try to forget. It has been a lonely journey.

You may want to have the communty reach out to the State Attorney General to push an investigation as my experience suggests the squeaky wheel gets the grease and the more requests and comments received the more likely this will be looked at... I suggest everyone wait for her to decide the correct direction for the community to take on the families behalf.
