    Is this firesuit any good?

Like anyone, I started shopping for a fire suit recently and so of course I tried eBAy.

Is this any good? The price has me worried. I really don't feel like risking my life just to save a couple of bucks but I don't wanna break the bank if I don't have to. If anyone had some insight on this one or could recommend another one I would really appreciate it.

Dan I don't know much about firesuits but the one I have is a crow and it cost somewhere from $100-$150. It isn't the most comfortable thing but it gets the job done and you will save some money. I don't know exactly what you are looking for but I just thought I would throw this out there so you could see some other options. Is this firesuit for LeMons???

Re: Is this firesuit any good?

Dan PCI sells them for around $120. Its a single layer one which is more than good enough for the Lemons race if thats what its for.

If your looking for a higher quality one I would call PCI or Camburg and see what they offer in like a sparco or such....

I have one of these and its really nice for the cold nights in baja.

I need on for the Lemons race but I wanted one for desert racing also so my suit will run dual duty. If I am lucky I might use it for a little drag racing if my Dad ever gets another drag car. Thanks everyone! Those of you who sent me PMs .... I will be in touch in a couple of paychecks.

That suit does not look to bad. It says its a two layer SFI tagged. As long as its SFI then it has to meet minimum rating specs. The big question is how is the suit cut and how comfortable does it feel when on. It can be made of the greatest material and meet all the specs, but if they dont make them to fit right and feel comfortable then their worthless. Also seeing that the company is K1 and mostly what they sell is Karting gear, I would make sure its not a Karting suit but an actual driving suit. Karting suits are not flame rated like a driving suit is. And if your looking for a suit that you can use dual purpose then that would be a concern.

The fact that it was on eBay gave me pause because I cant try it on. I wanted to check how legit the company is who made it and was wondering if anyone knew first hand how well it would work and hold up etc.

You can wear one of these many times but it only has to work once. Keep the info coming or if there is a thread already I wouldn't mind a link.

Re: Is this firesuit any good?

Why buy on eBay when you can buy a Sparco for less money from UPR? The eBay deal is 349.00+12.00 shipping so you're in the suit 362.00 by the time you get it.
Then when it doesn’t fit, it may not be that easy to return to an eBay store.

We're about to have this 2 layer Sparco suit in our garage sale for 349.00 on Monday, it's on the site for 549.00 currently. Also, you get free next day shipping to Arizona and California on suits we have in stock.

We are constantly buying overstock and discontinued suits from Sparco that go into our Garage Sale section at 30-50 percent off.

Re: Is this firesuit any good?

This is a newer version of the suit I have http://www.pyrotect.com/product.php?...2&cat=7&page=1

The fit is great and the the expanding waist works great if you eat one too many tacos between race dates.

Theres a ton of different companys making suits Just make sure you buy a NOMEX one and not Proban. After that its pretty much just the style you like.
