FULL CIRCLE -- Malcolm Smith and JN ROberts - The Legend Lives On - Big Screen Debut
Hello All,
For those of you who followed last year's 40th anniversary Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, the feature film about Malcolm Smith and JN Roberts reuniting to complete in the Baja 1000 40 years after winning the first Baja 1000, was just accepted to the Temecula Valley International Film Festival (wwwtviff.com). The festival, one of the premier film festivals in the US, runs from September 17 to September 21, and is held at the Tower Plaza Cinema Complex in Temecula, California.
The film will have two showings, Thursday, September 18, time TBD, and Saturday, September 20 at 5 PM. The trailer is on www.youtube.com, keywords "JN Roberts", or just go directly to "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYu-mw9Y3qc" to watch the trailer.
To draw attention to the film, the Racing For Life Offroad Team is hosting a Dual SPort Ride that Saturday starting at the Film Festival, looping up to Idyllwild, California for a barbecue lunch and live music, then returning to the Festival for the 5 PM showing of FULL CIRCLE. YOu are all welcome to join the Dual Sport Ride, open to the first 75 riders (2 wheel and 4 wheel okay). We just planned a great 100+ mile loop, 80% in the dirt, through the San Jacinto Mountains above Palm Springs. Event Registration starts at 6:30 AM at the Tower Plaza. We have all CDF clearances. At the end of thei ride, we will have a special trailer for the riders to clean up and change clothes. After the screening, there will be an after-screening party at Scarcellas, next door to the cineplex. GO to www.racingforlife.org to download an entry form and details on the Dual Srort Ride. Proceeds from the ride will benefit The Rider Down Foundation (www.riderdown.org). Proceeds from the sale of the FULL CIRCLE DVD benefit the El Oasis Children's Orphanage through the Malcolm Smith Motorsports Foundaiton.
More than 15,000 attend the festival each year, now in its 14th year. It is a "people's choice" award festival, so the more people we can get to attend the Sept 20th Saturday screening and vote for the film, the better chance we have of the film receiving recognition and honors. Very few of the films screened actually are made by film makers from the area. Pinned TV teamed with us last year to produce the film, coordinating production with 20+ camera crews down the Baja Peninsula.
So tell your friends and let's support our sport and these fine charities. Time to take over the festival!!!

The event is growing. We now have rsvps from over 20 riders so far. We're adding some additional fun things in the next few days. Stay tuned for further announcements.
Thanks for the building support so far! It will be a great day and event!

Have you invited JN to come down from Montana? Let me know if you need his phone number.
I'm coming on the 18th. Can't wait to see the movie. Will the movie be for sale at the event?

I have invited JN to come down. Right now he is worried about the health of his wife, Janice. He is 50/50 at best.
However, we are going to have Totally Offroad Radio broadcast live from opening night at the film festival on Wednesday the 17th from 6-8PM. We plan several call in guests plus a surprise guest host. Baja Designs,as the event sponsor, will have Alan Roach, President, talking about their involvement with Dual Srorting and the Baja 1000.
THere are a few more surprises to come!
Can you make the Dual Sport Ride that day? It is a fundaraiser for RderDown (www.RiderDown.org). We start at the festival's Tower Plaza at California ROad and Ynez at 6 AM, head on up by backroads and dirt trails to Idyllwild for lunch, then back to Temecula in time for the 5PM showing of FULL CIRCLE.
Go to our website, www.racingforlife.org to download the application and more details.

Hello everyone!
JN Roberts will be calling in to Totally Off Road Radio this coming Wednesday. He will be bringing his legions of fans up to date on what he has been up to this past year. Totally Off Road Radio, AM 1000 San Diego, will be broadcasting live from the opening night of the 14th Annual Temecula Valley International Film Festival. The show is sponsored by Baja Designs, the title sponsor of Idyllrock 2008. Joining host Jim Holthus in the booth will be Deanna Roach of Baja Designs, Mike Badami, FULL CIRCLE Director and Producer of Pinned TV, Fred Helms, Director of FULL CIRCLE and Co-Producer of Pinned TV, and John Barnes, legendary off road racer. John finished third overall in the first Baja 1000 in 1967, then known as the NORRA Mexican 1000. John was teamed with Dick Hansen, finishing minutes behind the team of Malcolm Smith/JN Roberts, second overall/first motorcycle and the team of Vic Wilson/ Ted Mangels, first overall/first 4-wheel.
For those of you who don't know, JN is recovering from treatment of prostate cancer. He not only is in remission, but racing motocross, ice racing and competing in GP events several times a month. At 67 years young, an amazing man!
Also, Jimmy Roberts, JN's son, will be joining Idyllrock 2008. Jimmy is a top notch Hollywood stuntman and up-and-coming Hollywood director. Both Jimmy and JN were featured in "Dust To Glory."
After the Idyllrock 2008 Dual Sport Ride and viewing of the feature film, FULL CIRCLE at the Temecula Valley International Film Festival at 5 PM on Saturday, September 20 (THIS COMING WEEKEND!!!), there will be an after-screening party next door at Aloha Joes. We will have a day-of-event raffle to raise money for The RiderDown Foundation, with hundreds of dollars in prizes donated so far, including a gift certificate from GPR Stabilizers for a steering dampener of your choice!
During the raffle, Jimmy and I will be making a very special announcement to the off road community. You will need to attend to be the first to be the first to hear this announcement!
Special NEWS FLASH -- pleas send your prayers for a speedy recovery to Dick Hansen, legendary off road racer and one of the true gentlemen of the sport. Dick had a heart bypass operation about a week ago and is recovering at home as we speak.
