Clean-dezert is putting on another clean-up this year in the barstow area. Its will be held the weekend of Oct 18th. and 19th in Barstow Ca.
Saturday morning we will have sign-ups for the clean-up and start the clean-up at 9am. Free BBQ for everyone (Thanks to CAMBURG Engineering and specifically Jerry Zaiden!) who comes out and volunteers, as well as a free raffle for everyone volunteering. Clean-dezert.org would also like to invite you to bring the kids out to help out and learn why it's important to protect our desert have some popcorn and play in the desert! We will have some gloves being donated but just incase bring a set to be on the safe side.
So far we have had tremendous success in getting stuff to raffle off from the following people, without each of your help this wouldn't be possible! We will continue to contact manufacturers and suppliers until the event as well!

(If you plan on going on a demo ride, please bring a helmet and googles, we have a couple extra, but may not have the right size for your head, All rides require a helmet to be worn)
Clean-dezert.org is also asking for donations towards our cause! This doesn't have to be financially, if you want to give us a trashcan or donate some gloves, have some parts laying around that some kid may be able to use (which could then be installed at your shop!) we would like to speak with you!
In addition to funding the cleanups in our local deserts Clean-dezert.org also donates 25% of the proceeds directly to CORVA! Now come on people, this is a WIN WIN situation!
So for those of you who are interested in helping out with the event or looking to donate to the effort to maintain and protect our desert please go to www.clean-dezert.org and sign up! Its free, it fun, and is important!
Thanks!

Re: Barstow Clean up Oct 18th Big Prizes
That sounds great Adam and glad to hear that guys like Jerry and his sponsor stepped in such grand fashion.
It is a bummer that we couldn't work the cleanup around the race schedule down south, but bug things are coming for Clean-dezert.org in the coming year! Jon with DRIVE is really appreciative of the effort being out fourth by Adam and his friends and hopefully will be meeting soon to discuss the potential of providing cleanup during the weekends of the races down south.
In the future we plan on supporting each of the race series who show interest in getting clean-dezert involved in the effort to keep our desert clean and open.
If anyone would like to help clean-dezert.org please let us know!
As for right now we still a few thing donated to help us with our cleanup, if you have access to the following items we love to talk to you:
Heavy duty trash cans (Rubbermaid or similar).
Trash Bags
Gloves

We will be signing up everyone as they show up, the sign up is more or less a release form for the BLM and not as much of a registration as it sounds.
Come on out on Friday evening if your planning on camping out or just show up in the morning and we'll get you signed in.
Remember, first come first serve on the IRONCLAD gloves to the first 100 people. So get there early Saturday or come camp out with us on Friday night!
If you think you aren't going to be there in time to get a pair of gloves please bring your own! Thanks!
