stand alone ecu
whats the best (simplest to set up) stand alone efi system? Ive been looking at megasquirt - it is an inexpensive system with lots of features and capabilities but does'nt seem to be the "package" Im looking for. Tons of add ons and 10billion different ways to set it up. I'll get myself in trouble with too many bells and whistles. Just want something simple to make gas go in and hp come out.
Hell, Ive got tools for fixin tools. Go on now, break somethin!

Re: stand alone ecu
SDS, I have used one on a 351W in the past and it was very easy to tune, no laptop needed. They are also bullet proof, due to a minor over site on My part it got filled with water and mud a couple times. After a quick wash out and drying in the sun for a couple hours it started right back up. Still have it and plan to put it on the new Barge one of these days.

That was the second one I looked at, and seems much much more suitable for what I want to do. V6 ranger btw.

I have used the SDS set up in a toyota class 10 and in a toyota 7 with the 3.4. And they have never failed, and are very easy to tune and trouble shoot. They also have very good customer service if you ever run into any problems.
Raceco Class 12 for sale pm or email for more details ready to test drive

Re: stand alone ecu
only time we had one fail is when the computer inside the spark box got corroded from laughlin when it rained all night before the race and all day during the race... but they fixed that now... we find it very easy to use... we had to swap our motor 2 days before primm and we able to reprogram the computer with our old #s in about 10mins..
