    misfire

i have a slight misfire at least i think it is something to that effect. in first and 2nd gear around 4000 rpm my truck studders below that rpm fine and above that rpm also fine.just for the instant im at like 3800 to maybe 4200. wouldnt this cause my check engine light to come on? i have a thought on what might be causing it why wont the check engine light come on so i can plug it into the computer and really see what code pops up. any ideas?

    thanks
    Gregg

    Re: misfire

Let's see, we know it is an internal combustion engine, has at least 2 speeds, revs up to at least 4200 RPM, and is 1980 or newer. Do you have more details?
