xbox 360 Baja Achievements 1000/1000 -- details / discussion

Ok, This took a little longer to make than I thought... oh well its done now, enjoy.

I have seen posts like this for other video games I have played in the past (in other forums), so I thought I would make a similar thread detailing all of the xBox 360 Baja achievements available. Mostly to try and make getting some of them a little easier.

This is a complete list of all the xBox Achievements you can accumulate while playing Baja: Edge of Control

This looks like a fairly easy game to get all 1000 Achievement points for, although, it will probably be VERY time consuming.


If you have more info / or notes for any one of these achievements, please feel free to post about it!
Questions are welcome too.
Although, if you just ask what all this is for, you will be laughed at.... use google if you really don't know


Also, Please don't post JUST to say that going specifically for these is a waste of time.
The people who do go for these KNOW that already (I usually don't go for achievements myself).
It is something that exists to have fun in addition to what the game already has.





Unlimited VW Experience Level [ 10 ]
Earn enough experience points to unlock the Unlimited VW race leagues.

4X4 Class Experience Level [ 15 ]
Earn enough experience points to unlock the 4X4 race leagues.

Open-Wheel Experience Level [ 15 ]
Earn enough experience to unlock the Open-Wheel race leagues.

Mini Truck Experience Level [ 20 ]
Earn enough experience to unlock the Mini Truck race leagues.

Fullsize Truck Experience Level [ 20 ]
Earn enough experience points to unlock the Full Size truck race leagues.

Class 1 Experience Level [ 25 ]
Earn enough experience points to unlock the Class 1 race leagues.

Trophy Truck Experience Level [ 50 ]
Earn enough experience points to unlock the Trophy Truck race leagues.

First Career Race Won [ 15 ]
Finish in 1st place in any race during your career.

Clutch Used [ 5 ]
Use the clutch at least 5 times in one race.
Note: Read the manual if you are not sure how to use this feature

Hand Brake Used [ 5 ]
Use the hand brake at least 5 times in one race.
Note: See Clutch Notes

Preload Used [ 5 ]
Use preload at least 5 times in one race.
Note: See Clutch Notes

Speed Demon [ 5 ]
Achieve a minimum top speed of 120 MPH.
Note: Probably need to use at least an open wheel vehicle

Roll Over [ 5 ]
Roll your vehicle at least 3 times in a row.

First Race League Won [ 10 ]
Finish in 1st place in any league during your career.

Careful [ 10 ]
Finish a race in 1st, 2nd or 3rd with no body damage what so ever.

Total Loss [ 10 ]
Finish a race without any body panels attached to your vehicle.
Note: you must complete the race with the totaled car before this one shows up

Friendly Skies [ 10 ]
Accumulate a total of 1 mile of distance traveled while airborne.

Hat Trick [ 10 ]
Finish 1st in three races in a row in Baja Career.

Clean Line [ 10 ]
Complete a lap without ever leaving the track.

Clean Driving [ 10 ]
Complete an entire race without ever leaving the track.

Never Flat [ 10 ]
Finish a race in 1st, 2nd or 3rd with no flat tires.

*********** ALL of the achievments listed above should be fairly easily achieved while playing through a normal career, but several of them can be gotten outside of a career play through ***********

Won All Cabo San Lucas Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more in Cabo San Lucas.

Won All Canyon De Chelly Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more in Canyon De Chelly.

Won All Canyon Lake Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more in Canyon Lake.

Won All Cocono Island Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more in Cocono Island.

Won All Lake Powell Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more in Lake Powell.

Won All Uyuni Salt Flats Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more in Uyuni Salt Flats.

Won All Nevada Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more in Nevada.

Won All Painted Desert Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more in Painted Desert.

Won All Mogollon Rim Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more in Mogollon Rim.
Note: These last 9 probably all have to be done using the "Race" mode from the main menu. Be sure to set the laps to 5 before starting a race.



Basic Multiplayer [ 10 ]
Play at least 5 hours in Multiplayer.
Note: Anyone know if this can be done while playing online, or does it have to be done with a local 2nd player?

Won All Hill Climb Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every race in Hill Climbs.

Won All Open Class Races [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in every Open Class race.

Won 5 Invitational Races. [ 25 ]
Finish 1st in 5 Invitationals races.
Note: Not too difficult. Just be sure to join the invitational race (and not just "join league" everytime) when it shows up during your career playing

Owns 15 Vehicles [ 20 ]
Purchase 15 vehicles through the course of your career.

Owns 25 Vehicles [ 25 ]
Purchase 25 vehicles through the course of your career.

Won First Race [ 10 ]
Come in first place in race mode with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more.
Note: Again, not too difficult. Must be done from the "Race" main menu option, just be sure to set the race to 5 laps

High Roller [ 10 ]
Have 1 million credits in your account.

Well Informed [ 10 ]
Watch all of the tutorial videos.
Note: Very Simple, just select each race type from the "Race" option on the main menu. You can even press a button to skip the videos, then press back, and goto the next race type. Should take less than 1 minute to get this one.

Hot Pit Repair [ 10 ]
Get fully repaired in the Hot Pit for the first time.

Help From Above [ 10 ]
Get fully repaired by the helicopter for the first time.

Manual Tranny [ 10 ]
Finish 1st in a race with the AI and Laps set to 5 or more using a manual transmission.
Note: Adjust the options to use a manual tranny car for player 1, goto the basic "Race" menu from the main screen, and do a short race.

Baja 250 [ 20 ]
Complete any Baja 250 race.

Baja 500 30
Complete the Baja 500.

Baja 1000 [ 50 ]
Complete the Baja 1000.

King of the Hill [ 50 ]
Complete the Baja 1000 in a Trophy Truck.
Note: I would guess you get these last two achievements mentioned simply by racing the 1000 for the first time in a TT

Mille Bournes [ 20 ]
Drive 1000 miles in all vehicles combined.
Note: You should probably get 1000 miles total while playing through a normal career

Deux Mille Bournes [ 25 ]
Drive 2000 miles in all vehicles combined.

Career Complete! [100 ]
Complete the entire career by finishing 1st in every league and invitational tournament.
Note: This one seems like it would be somewhat difficult, and pretty time consuming

Explorer [ 15 ]
Find all of the hidden Discoveries in Free Ride.
Note: Anyone have this one yet? Care to explain?

So far out of all these Achievements, I have 28 out of 50, but only 370 out of 1000 points.


I have all the "Career Achievements", along with:
5 invite wins
1000 miles
well informed
manual tranny
won 1st race
hot pit repair
help from above
(those last two were also gotten in career playing, the helicopter was done during a rally race)


Out of the ones I have remaining, I would say the "Hill Climb" and "Open Class" wins look to be about the hardest, since I suck at both those types of events.
Damn I hate the "Hill Climb" events...


So does anyone actually have all 1000 points yet?
