From my understanding a cut and welded tube is stronger. I THINK that when you bend a tube it thins out he wall thickness. I do know that the bent part is weaker though. So a cut/welded and plated tube junction is really strong anf the way to go. The miter cuts are the way to go in my lowly opinion. But hey what do I know I'm just an online fabricator

That is how H&M built my F150. I was a little worried at first but when its all said and done and plated up to the cab and frame its a pretty nice set up. I can post some pics of mine as a finished product or let Andrew post pics when they get his truck to that point in the build.

Yeah I know all about being an online faber.....I heard that too plus I figured that way the tube can be pushed into the sides of the cab with out having a 90 degree bend to attach to the frame.

Re: H&M 4WD Supercrew Build
Updates 10-17. I picked up my new rear axle from Dirt-Tech today. It is a new housing that they have developed that is targeted for prerunners. Tubes are 3.5" x .250, with a plated center section. Hubs are Desert Specialites 2.5" with 35 spline axles. It will have Wilwood calipers with 13" rotors, and a TJ Rebert built third member with 4.88s, detroit locker, Strange case, and 1350 u joint.

More pics as of 10-17. Cab cage is almost done. They did an incredible job in tucking the cage up against the cab. I am really happy with how things are going so far.

Truck looks good! Its always cool to see the stuff H&M is cranking out... keep the updates comming! Any reason why you decided on the DT rear housing over the H&M Bomber housing?
