affordable setup
Hey guys,
I've been hearing all kinds of advice on setting up my 4L '94 ford ranger for racing. So far I have a pair of Deaver G50's in the back and Giant I-beams in the front. What would you guys recomend for an entry level shock setup? I've heard 2.5" coilovers in the front (what length?!?!) and 3" bypass' in the back (also what length?!). Right now this is looking like 3k+ of parts. Are there any other options? Is there anything more affordable than King shocks I should be looking at that wont break on me? My priorities are Dependable, then inexpensive, then performance. I really just wanna have the most fun and get out there racing - much less worried about the last bit of performance.
Thanks so much - any advice would be extremely helpful.

Re: affordable setup
Get some 2.5 FOA's.
12 or 14" coilover up front
14 or 16" in back (personal preference, 16 is better but the shock will stick up pretty high past the bedrail)
You dont need 3.0's with that setup. It would be nice, but if your just getting your feet wet in racing, get 2.5s and spend the extra money you saved on safety equipment.
Hell, Ive got tools for fixin tools. Go on now, break somethin!

RDC classifieds is about the only other option. There are always used shocks up for grabs.

I agree that you don't need more than a single 2.5 per a corner. Used shocks or FOA's are an economical approach.
