How will the new VW Trophy Truck do at the 1000
I have been thinking about this for a while and I predict a top three for the new VW Trophy Truck. The diesel should be able to get by with only two pit stops (40 gallons of fuel x 6 mpg = 240miles between stops), has Miller's experience, looks shorter and thus more nimble going down the grade, etc. The downside is that it is brand new and unproven, has a tranny that is a question mark, and we don't know how the diesels torque will compete against the hp of the gas motors.
What is your prediction and your thoughts?

If this thing is basically a beefed up version of the one's they ran at the 500, I see an overall.

Look what they did on a very rough 500 course in the old Tourag. I think they will do just fine. I'm sure they will have plenty of test miles going into the race, and the only thing that could take them out would be Petey's front bumper! LOL!!!

The way the old ones they ran at the 500 worked I expect the new one to dominate. I was spectical at the 500 but I won't make the same mistake twice.

Just as when VW brought their "Dakar Race Touareg" vehicles to the Baja 500, expect the same level of commitment and professionalism with the "Baja Race Touareg".
