C.V. might have a crack
Check out the picture and tell me what you think. Sorry this is the best picture I could get.
Not sure if it is a forging mark or a crack. Is this where they crack?

Thanks Bill,
Do they normally crack in a way/direction like that and in that area?

Re: C.V. might have a crack
Use the polishing method I talked to you about and see if the "crack" polishes out, if so it is not cracked but only a scratch. Keep "polishing" deeper if you still suspect a crack, you are not going to hurt a cracked CV and you might learn something interesting to share with us. I have never seen one crack there.

Never seen a crack there also, specially that long and in that direction......In case of doubt, replace it, it is not worth it. But do as Ramsey suggested, we might have a 1 of a kind crack here, worth sharing

Re: C.V. might have a crack
Thanks guys, and thanks vida for the offer. After doing some more polishing it looks like a forging shunt (I thinks thats what they are called) What ever it is, it has been like that for a while, if not since new.
C.V.s SUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just spent the last 5 hours polishing, deburing, greasing, getting them back in. First time doing it. The second side went smoother, learned something new. I learned I don't like c.v.s
