Anything new with the smog laws?

I have a 1996 Ford Ranger pre-runner with a 4.0L and 5 Speed. The engine is stock, but it has a Jazz fuel cell. I have all of the smog stuff hooked up; cat, vapor recovery, proper gas cap, carbon canister, etc. It passed smog no problem two years ago, but I thought I read somewhere that there was a change to the smog rules. True. Perhaps I am just paranoid, but any front end information, suggestions, etc...would be helpful.
