Who has the best cell phone coverage in Baja??

If you were going to travel throughout baja which cell phone provider would you use?? I know that sat phones are the best & the spot tracker is also pretty bitchen but if you wanted a cell phone which provider would you use???? Any info would be appreciated.

I had great coverage with Tmobile last week. I was even send and receive texts and emails via phone.

T-Mobile and AT&T work great in Baja.

Edit: You can also use the disposable phones from OXXO, cheap and pay by the minute.

ill 2nd at&t. very good coverage all over the san felipe side all last weekend. It turns into telcel gsm once down there. Calling and texting isnt cheap but i played on the internet on my phone texted and let people call their g/fs on my phone all weekend.

ATT and Tmobile are gsm phones, which is what most of the world including Baja use. The other carriers still use cdma which doesn't work nearly as well in Baja. I don't know why someone thinks ATT sucks in California, I've had ATT/cingular for years and it works as well as any other carrier. Of course, all carriers have small dead spots due to tower location so if your house is in one that wouldn't be good of course.

AT&T blows in Temecula and pretty much all of the Inland Empire. Other than that, it works pretty good. Unfortunately I spend my whole day in Temecula and that's not good.
