Helmets
We know that there is a lot of controversy over the helmet rules for each series. DRIVE will not be allowing M Helmets for two reasons.
1. M helmets are not fire rated.
2. The face shields on M helmets are thinner then the shields on the helmets listed in the rules below.
DCR2: HELMETS
Helmets must be approved by one of the following; SA2000 , SA2005, FIA Standard
8860-2004. All identification stickers must be attached and legible. Straps must have Dring fasteners only. No snaps or Velcro will be permitted. The interior and exterior
areas of the helmet must be free of defects (i.e., the padding must be in good condition and the exterior of the helmet must not be damaged). DRIVE Off-Road Racing strongly recommends that entrants check the labeling on the helmet when purchasing to ensure the helmet meets the above listed criteria.

I have two new helmets that I purchased from UBR, the only ID on them is SNELL Approved. They are AR10s What do you need for approval?

The AR10 is Snell SA 2005 and SFI 31.8. Your helmets are good to go. Inside the helmet and under the padding there is a "shinny" label. Yours will say SA2005. Some will say SA2000.
The helmets that will not be allowed will say M2000 or M2005. Nothing with the date 1995 will be allowed.

Curious why the LED Amber lights are not allowed? At the KC Midnite race the cars using the LED's were easier to see then the ones using standard lights. Are LED tail/brake lights OK?
I noticed that the rules don't like LED's, why? The modern LED's hold up better then conventional lights and are brighter.
Attached is a list of rules that may be a little different from what some racers are used to. PLEASE read all the rules for your class on our website. This is not the complete list of rules.
