Baja T/A military version.
I noticed today that the military are now running a new style baja T/A on the hummers. They are similiar to the current tread but with a bit more sidewall tread.

Does anyone know if these will become avaliable to the public??

You would think this would help bring the price down on these tires.

It might not effect tire prices much if at all. I don't think the Baja TA's come in a 16.5x37" size now and that's the size these new ones are going to be. They might not even sell them to anyone but the military. Goodyear makes the current tires and the used to sell that tire/tread pattern to the public in that size and others. Now that tread pattern is only sold in 16.5"x37 to the military. The public gets a totally different tread pattern

I forgot to add that those are going to be super heavy when set up with the run flats. But I would love to see these tires come out for the public to buy. I'd buy a set for sure.

Most MIL only tires have to be destroyed after use. No public sales if it's MIL only.

Good point. I was pretty much off on everything that came out my mouth yesterday.

You can get surplus HUMVEE tires if you hit up the government surplus web site (http://www.govliquidation.com/) from time to time. Some are used, some are new. They don’t have any currently but they do show up some times. If they have good tread and say they are DOT approved on the sidewall you can run them on the road.

I was going to suggest the same thing......Bob Perry (RIP) who was in Tucson and had a surplus army depot and he had hundreds of humvees tires.
I dont know if they still exist under another name, they were very close to Safari Offroad in highway 1-10 and you couldnt miss the place because it had Bob's race car outside:
