GREENBERG MAKES RACING HISTORY
Desert Hills, Arizona – Sigal Racing, led by Sigal Greenberg, one of Arizona’s most prolific racecar drivers, won the 240-mile 2008 Henderson Fabtech Desert Classic sponsored by Best in the Desert (BITD) on December 6, 2008 in Henderson, Nev. Greenberg is the first woman to win a race "car" division championship in the organization’s 26 years of operation.
Sigal Racing entered the race, the last of the season, leading her competition by 50 points. Driving her newest racecar, Pinkie, Greenberg, accompanied by Rich Boyette, one of her team members, she raced to the finish line. Sigal Racing team members Justin “Bean” Smith and Andy Devercelly, helped establish a 10-minute lead so Greenberg could race to the finish line with ease and precision. The win was witnessed by more than 10,000 fans.
Greenberg, who is known for her pink, colorful vehicles and the unique names she assigns them, won first place in the second group race, first place in their respective class and took the points champion category for the 2008 BITD season.
“This has been an exciting season for Sigal Racing,” says Greenberg. “It was a big team effort. We wanted the checkered flag, but ended up racing 110 percent and took the complete win.”
Greenberg’s win was helped by the support of her team: co-drivers Rich Boyette, Justin “Bean” Smith, Andy Devercelly, Pit crew members were crew cheif Lee Creiglow, Lee Porterfield, JC Farris, PJ Creiglow, John Hallal & JR.
Greenberg, who has been racing for eight years, has moved from class 9 to JeepSpeed and currently races in class 10 lite (class 1100). Sigal Racing, LLC, which is and headquartered in Desert Hills, Arizona north of metropolitan Phoenix, is sponsored by Light Force, Mobile Radio Communications, Sopwith Motorsports, Arizona Off-road, Yokohama, Fox shox, Major Performance, JG Transwerks, BC Clothing and Rocket Graphix.
