In an attempt to keep the driveline alive in my 5 speed ranger I was wondering if anybody uses a rubber isolator or "cush drive" similar to what is in the rear wheel of a streetbike. I guess older alfas and bmw's used them and they are called giubo couplers or hardy disks?
Has anybody used these or another limiter (not a one time use fuse) with success,, either on a CV or mid-driveshaft? I imagine people have tried to solve the driveline fatigue issue in off-road before, but I haven't been around long enough to know the history on it. I read in the dirtsports interview with Xtrac about Curnutt putting clutches on the CVs but couldn't find anything more.

Re: Cush Drive or torque limiter for the driveline?
Interesting.....

Re: Cush Drive or torque limiter for the driveline?
They were very common on Indy cars a few years back. Used as the inner joint, they would accomodate suspension movement and plunge. But Indy cars don't have much travel, plunge, weight, or shock load.
Hmmm... Would that be on the driveline or for each axle on Harry?
