Has anyone ever used a trap door style over the check ball for their fuel collector box ? Do you find them leaking fuel out more than a check ball style?
I currently have a collector box located in the center-rear of the my fuel cell, with three check ball style traps pointing side, side, front. I would like to make sure i am able to pull at least 90% of my fuel. The current issue is the lowest point of the check ball opening is .875 from the bottom of the tank. In the box i have a low-profile pickup that is about .250 high. Static i am able to pull everything but 7 gallons (my cell foot print is 48" x 42", with the sides kicked to 5° so it channels the fuel towards the center. )
my thoughts were to keep the two side check ball but switch out the front check ball to a door trap instead so it could lower it to about .400. But if the trap doors leak more than the check ball then there is not point too, also i am dropping the fuel level in the box by switching to a door since i am lowering the entry height.
thoughts ....
thanks

Re: collector box "trap door or check ball" which one
Ben did that 7 gallons reamin from testing (driving) or sitting stationary ? Forward movement alone would force fuel to the rear into the trap box.. First thought is to discuss with bladder manufacturer..
