I just got a PS3 and GT5P.... I have beat c and b classes and working on a... This may be a dumb question but can you tune or upgrade the cars like the previous games... Also after you complete the a class is that it?

As far as I know this version is only a preview, as a way to hold you off until the real version comes out. Thats the reason it was $40 when it first came out. So all the tuning features are left out. Had I known that when it came out I wouldnt have bought it and waited for the real version.
When you get to the S license section after C,B,A you get the quick tune menu, a little easier to tune than GT4 but I still like 4 better for the moment.
I cannot wait for this game. Just depressed they didn't put Indycars in it since they put Indianapolis in it. But hey, I'll run 24 hours at lemans with more than 8 cars, it's all good.
